BALTIMORE, Md. – USJN’s East Coast Clash returned to suburban Baltimore this past weekend for its 6thannual rendition. Unlike previous years, the nearly 80 teams in attendance welcomed the opportunity to get on the floor and prepare for the new May Evaluation Period coming our way this weekend.

As with previous years, some of the top club programs in the Mid-Atlantic were in attendance and once again attracted the watchful eyes of countless Division III college coaches who make this event an annual stop on their recruiting calendars. Here are just some of the players we took notice of this year.

Taylor Addison – 2023 – 5-4 – Point Guard/Guard – MD Lady Tigers 14 – Developing as a player…Creates shots both for herself and for others…Three pointer off the bounce is there…Lots of athleticism…Zips the ball around as a passer

Alicea Bell – 2024 – 5-9 – Guard – Fairfax Stars 13 – All of the physical make up…Lefty driver…Definitely a gamer mentality…Shot is still a work in progress but can knock down some treys…Lots of rebounds…Gets things going out in transition game

Sierra Bermudez – 2021 – 5-8 – Guard – Philadelphia Belles 16 Halligan – Big, physical wing…Continues to show off her three point prowess…IQ has continued to expand…Lots of points coming through her by her own hand

Rose Bubakar – 2021 – 5-10 – Forward – MD Belles 17 Simmons – Always boards it hard…Jumping ability is an asset…Wants to get into the paint and get air born…Nice job handling the ball to help break the press…Has expanded range to the three point line

Caliyah Devillasee – 2025 – 5-2 – Point Guard – MD Lady Tigers 13 Roman – Extra gears to blow by people…Shows maturity to know when and how to use them…Some flash in her handles and passing game…Likes the runner in the lane over help defenders

Jadyn Donovan – 2023 – 5-11 – Guard – MD Belles 16 Watson – Major problem for defenders out on the wing…Combination of natural physical ability and an attack mentality…Understands when to push and when to pull it out…Coast to coast is her specialty…Elevation is ridiculous at times…Moves without the ball to get opportunities…Difference maker at a young age

Kaci Donovan – 2020 – 6-1 – Guard – Philadelphia Belles 17 Breanna Stewart – Penn State commit…Scorer at all levels…Can put up lots of quick, quiet points…Converts off turnovers

Jocelyn Dorsey – 2021 – 5-10 – Guard/Forward – Mid Penn Motion 16 – Scored from both the perimeter and in the paint…Feisty player…Shows some fire…Fights for her team…Length and versatility in several facets of the game

Chandler Eddleton – 2020 – 5-8 – Guard – VA Belles 17 Martin – Lots of the physical gifts going on…Gets to the rim and likes to run the floor in transition…Pull up jumper could become a viable option with continued work…Good hands on defense to go with the quickness

Makayla Firebaugh – 2020 – 5-10 – Guard – Winchester Rising Stars 17 – Three point stroke is a plus…Handles well enough to drive in transition…Great size helps her shoot over smaller defenders…Can score the ball

Tatum Green – 2024 – 5-11 – Guard – MD Belles 13 Shabazz – Likes to slash her way to the rim…Drained shots from beyond the arc…Problematic defender…Lots of rebounds and steals…Great wingspan aids her efforts on both sides

Jada Gross – 2020 – 5-10 – Guard – MD Lady Tigers 17 – Nightmare when she gets out in transition…High octane player as the speed of the game picks up…Wants to slice and dice to the rim…Has a jump shot to go along with penetration

Jaylin Hartman – 2023 – 5-10 – Guard – Philadelphia Belles 14 Flynn – Shot creator…Perfect build for the wing…Elevates well to finish through contact…Can pivot around and elevate for the nice fall away jumper in the paint

Alainna Hopta – 2022 – 5-6 – Point Guard/Guard – York Thunder 15 – Quick trigger on the move beyond the arc…Deceptively quick, especially off the bounce…Gets going downhill when she attacks…Mid-range jumper also an option…Consistent scorer

Emily Johns – 2020 – 6-1 – Forward – Philadelphia Belles 17 Breanna Stewart – Moves well for her size…15 foot range…Can get that off the bounce too…Fought for good position above the block…Scored it

Hannah Kaloi – 2021 – 6-0 – Guard/Forward – Matrix 16 McConnell – Consistently puts up numbers…Good frame and height to go with scoring ability…Can penetrate to the bucket or into the stop and pop jumper…Scrappy…Gets her hands on rebounds and loose balls…Effective

Kylie Lavelle – 2022 – 6-0 – Guard/Forward – Philadelphia Belles 15 Maye – Converts lay ups…Likes to run the floor in transition…Smooth in her motions with the ball…Handles are fine for the wing…Can crossover and go in a flash…Efficient playing top of the press defensively as well

Paris Locke – 2023 – 6-0 – Guard/Forward – MD Lady Thrill 15 – Big, strong, versatile…Hard to stop on the drive…Attacks with ferocity and authority…Handful to deal with on both ends of the floor

Mackenzie Magaha – 2022 – 6-1 – Post – 1Onnone 17 Witherspoon – Sits down to post up…Has the look and game of an older, more mature player…Scored on some nice moves…Faces up like she wants to shoot it but jumper is a work in progress…Slides her feet well defensively for age

Angela Nnabue – 2022 – 5-7 – Point Guard – 1Onnone 15 Watkins – Plenty of physical upside…Shot the gap in passing lanes for several steals…Has a pretty good idea of how to play her position…Playmaker for her team

Jayla Oden – 2021 – 5-8 – Point Guard – MD Belles 17 Simmons – Up-tempo…Sparkplug player at the point…Combines quickness and good hops for size…Delivers zippy, heads up passes in tight spaces…Completed plenty of nice touch passes in transition…Jumper is a weapon out to the arch

Makaela Quimby – 2023 – 5-9 – Point Guard – MD Belles 16 Watson – Advanced knowledge of how to play the point…Knocks down the three ball as needed…Dropping plenty of assists…Smart and patient decision maker…Made plenty of mid-range shots…Table setter

Charia Roberts – 2020 – 6-0 – Forward – MD Lady Tigers 17 – Major athleticism and leaping ability…Showed ability to play the wing…Really thrives working the high post area…Rebounds her own and goes up again…15 foot range on the shot

Kayla Rolph – 2022 – 6-1 – Forward – Fairfax Stars 16 Showcase – Fluidity in her movements with and without the ball…Finished over the shoulder at times…Runs the floor hard…Mid-range jumper off the catch is out to about 15 feet…Good energy

Hannah Sauve – 2020 – 6-3 – Forward – Shenanigans 17 – Prototypical stretch four player…Caught eyes with her three point shooting ability…Plays within the flow of the offense…No issue guarding interior players defensively with size

Shreya Sivaram – 2022 – 5-5 – Guard – FCBA Soldiers 15 – Can score from deep and in bunches…Gets to the rim in trans or the half court as well…Nice scoring skills overall…Sneaky athletic

Khamare Steppe – 2022 – 5-10 – Forward – VA Belles 15 – Long, lean frame…Knows how to rim run for opportunities…Goes up and grabs rebounds…Finishes at a solid rate in the lane…Range out to about 12 feet

Christina Trivisonno – 2021 – 5-9 – Point Guard – Matrix 17 Black – Taller lead guard…Steady hand when operating at the point…Heady defender…Three point range…Likes the baseline jumpers…Tenacity about her nature on the floor

Lauren Trumpy – 2022 – 6-2 – Post – Mid Penn Motion 15 – Long limbs and a solid build…Rebounds at a high rate…Demonstrated ability to elevate and finish over the shoulder with the outside hand…On the right track

Molina Williams – 2020 – 6-0 – Forward – Carolina Waves 17 – Built for the next level…Threat to score from beyond the arc or in the paint…Talks on defense…Pounds the ball when she dribbles…Right hand dominant but no issues navigating in the open court…Potential to provide some position flexibility

Jaeda Wilson – 2024 – 5-8 – Guard – Germantown Lady Panthers 14 National – Power…Strong upper body…Bowling ball flying down the lane to the rim…Left handed but can go either way…Splits defenders with ease to finish…Bully upper body strength…Scored in bunches off the bounce

Kourtney Wilson – 2022 – 5-10 – Point Guard/Guard – Philadelphia Belles 16 EYBL – Fun to watch…Attacks with quick, sudden acceleration…Great understanding of spacing and where she is on the floor…Can’t go under on ball screens with her…Continues to improve…Plays to win

Kyra Jordan Wood – 2021 – 6-2 – Forward – Philadelphia Belles 17 Andrieux – Has the basics down as a face up forward…Works for position on the offensive glass…Pivots well to find outlet off the glass…Figuring out how to push on her own in transition…Needs to continue to develop as a ball handler and scorer to maximize physical tools

Delaney Yarborough – 2022 – 6-2 – Post – MD Lady Thrill 15 – Light on her feet with size…Soft hands…Diving out of bounds to save loose balls…Finishing in the lane…Higher effort and the work she’s put in is evident

Travis Ponton first joined the Blue Star family in 2016, and brings with him a decade of women's basketball coaching experience across multiple levels. A 2018 WBCA Thirty Under 30 Award recipient, his most recent stint was on the bench as an Assistant Coach at LIU Brooklyn. He's also served on the staff at Loyola University, Charleston Southern, Southeastern Louisiana University, and Mount St. Mary's. As a successful high school coach for four years in Virginia, Ponton had a hand in helping over 30 athletes take their game to the college level. With a degree in Journalism from Radford University, he has also previously worked with WTVR/CBS 6 Television in Richmond. Ponton still calls central Virginia home.
