COLORADO SPRING, Colo.—Following a week of workouts at the United States Olympic Training Center, the roster is set for the USA Basketball U17 World Championship Team. Just two members return from last summer’s U16 Bronze Medal squad in the 2015 FIBA Americas Championships.
The team will gather again for training camp June 8th in preparation for the FIBA U17 World Championships in Zaragoza, Spain. Coach Dori Oldaker and her staff will lead the red, white and blue as they defend the Gold, leaving for Spain on the 15th of June and taking the floor for the first time just nine days later.
The team features three players from Georgia, two each from Ohio and Texas with five other states having one representative each. The 2018 class leads the way with nine members while the 2017’s have two and the 2019 class has the final spot on this year’s roster. Aquira DeCosta and Sedona Prince, both 2018’s, are the only two returners from last year’s competition in Mexico.
