Frisco, TX—Blue Star Media opened up the NCAA July evaluation period with a double header of the Flava Jam and Super 64.  We also stuck around for the Adidas Gauntlet-Finale which featured over 240 teams playing at two different sites over three days.  Nearly 300 college coaches were on hand to take a closer look at the talent in the Lone Star State.

Today we a quick look at some of the standouts in Dallas at the end of the first leg of the July summer circuit.

Amaya Brown – 5-10 – 2018 – Combo – New Mexico Heat lite Gauntlet – Strong build and high motor on both ends of the floor… Very good pull-up…Goes hard to the rim…Finishes in traffic and gets to the free throw line…Rebounds offensively and defensively…Good handles and court vision,especially in transition…Needs to continue to work on the catch and shoot, especially behind the arc

Kennedy Brown – 6-5 – 2019 – Forward – NLHA Adidas 2019 Meyers – Special player that can play inside and out…Nice build and runs the floor very well in transition…Can catch in traffic, keep it high and finish…Shoots and hits the three consistently…Tough physical player inside with good post moves and hook…Rebounds on both ends… Well coached…High basketball IQ…Chance to be special

Jacinta Buckley – 6-0 – 2019 –Forward – Northwest Blazers Orange – Lefty forward with a high motor…Works hard and is very skilled…Runs the floor well in transition…Posts hard and finishes in traffic…Has a nice shot with range about 18 feet for right now…Will continue to develop…Has the potential to be very good

Kassidy DeLapp – 6-3 – 2018 – Forward/Center – JBS Adidas II gauntlet – Physical high motor kid…Will play at a high level on both ends of the court…Strong forward that can post up aggressively…Runs the floor well in transition…Catches the ball in traffic keeping it high and finishes with contact…Can put the ball on the floor and take it hard to the rim or shoot the pull up…Good catch and shoot with range about 17 feet and in

Shayley Harris – 6-6- 2018 – Forward/Center – JBS Adidas II Gauntlet – Big mobile kid…Skilled…Runs the floor well for size…Can catch and finish in transition with contact…Nice outside shot…Range is about 16 feet for right now…Can put the ball on the floor to the rim…Keeps it high on the offensive end and will finish…Crashes the O and D boards…Rebounds with two hands…Throws a nice outlet pass to trigger transition game

Taylor Jones  – 6-4 – 2019 – Forward – Urban Heroes Elite – Alexander – Terrific build…Runs the floor well in transition…Can catch and finish in traffic…Excellent hands…Put the ball on the floor and takes it hard to the rim…Crashes the boards hard on both ends…Keeps the ball high on the catch…Hits the defensive boards and outlets up the floor…On the offensive end keeps it high and puts it right back up…Tools to be special

Akunna Konkwo – 6-3 – 2019 – Center – 17U J. Harris P.S.P.A Rams –Good size kid…Strong build with mobility…True center that works hard in the paint…Good hands…Posts hard…Keeps the ball high and will finish…Young and needs to continue to develop on the offensive end…Defensive presence and will rebound on both ends…Has potential

Haley Van Lith – 5-6 – 2020 – Point Guard – Northwest Blazers Orange – Lefty point guard…Very skilled…Tight handles and extremely high basketball IQ…Terrific court vision…Gets the right players the ball with her passing skills…Very confident player…Can hit the three…Nice midrange game…Very good on ball defender in the full court…In the half court knows off ball principles…Fun to watch play…Has true potential to be a top player

Arianna McCurry – 6-6 – 2018 – Forward – JBS Adidas II Gauntlet – Tall, thin player…Very mobile…Runs the floor well…Can finish in transition…Good hands…Keeps the ball high in the post with the ability to finish…Nice shot…Range is about 16 feet for right now…Needs to get stronger but works hard

Uchenna Nwoke – 6-4 – 2018 – Center – Texas Elite Adidas 16U Holcombe – Good size kid…Takes space and posts hard…Keeps the ball high and is productive…Defensive presence that can alter shots and rim drives…Works hard…Needs to continue to develop her offensive game

Tatum Veitenheimer – 5-8 – 2018 – Point Guard – Texas Elite Adidas 17U Prime – Extremely tough player…Very skilled with a high basketball IQ…Can hit the three…Nice midrange game…Can take the ball to the basket…At off guard will rebound out of her area on both ends…Natural leader…Ultra competitor…Hates to lose more than she loves to win
