HOLYWOOD, Fla. – The updated Blue Star Media Elite 25 boys’ basketball rankings. Games are through Christmas and will be reshaped early next week.

Nine teams slide in the Elite 25 rankings after a month of contests. Moving forward the rankings will be updated weekly.

With so many tournaments and shootout events, the Elite 25 is gaining traction. A majority of the main events are in the rearview mirror but January this has plenty of chances for movement The Elite 25 rankings are back January 3, 2017. Low-down: The Lakers won the Chick-fil-A Classic National Division championship, beating Keenan (Columbia, S.C.). Brian Bowen was tabbed the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Low-down: The Trail Blazers have four games at the Les Schwab Invitational this week in Oregon.

3. Montverde (Fla.) Academy (11-0)

Low-down: Won the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. Sophomore F R.J. Barrett was named MVP.

4. Findlay Prep, Henderson, Nev. (15-0)

Low-down: Won Iolani Classic in Honolulu. Tournament MVP P.J. Washington had 27 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists during a 78-62 win over then-No. x Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) in the final.

Low-down: Won the Tarkanian Classic Platinum Division championship, defeating then-No. 19 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), 84-73, in the final. UCLA-bound Li’Angelo scored 25 points in the final as the Huskies have won 46 straight games dating back to the start of the 2015-16 season.

7. Oak Hill Academy, Mouth of Wilson, Va. (15-2)

Low-down: After a loss to then-No. 4 Sierra Canyon School (Chatsworth, Calif.), 83-79, in a nationally televised game, the Warriors lost to then-No. 24 Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.), 78-62, in the Iolani Classic final in Honolulu.

Low-down: Won the Gonzaga D.C. Classic and play this week at the prestigious Les Schwab Classic in Hillsboro, Ore.

Low-down: Split four games at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. The Celtics will rebound after Christmas heading into the New Year.
