The Premier Basketball Report Super 64 is one the signature NCAA certified events in the first week of the evaluation period. The Super 64 had a lot of talented teams with several talented players. Here are few that stood out more than the rest.
2013
Briana Taylor 5-10, Cy-Fair Nike Elite 2013 Coleman
Taylor, the Houston, Texas native, is a very explosive leaper with a athletic frame. She does a great job getting into the lane and finishing in traffic. Taylor is a excellent on ball defender and really loves to jump the passing lanes and her long arms allows her to create havoc for opposing teams as well as rebound at both ends. Offensively, she likes to attack the paint but isn’t afraid to stop and knockdown the pull up midrange jumper. Taylor is a high energy player with mid major to high major ability.
Allisha Gray 6-1, Georgia Metros 16 Nike Team
The North Carolina commit and current USA U18 team member Allisha Gray showed why she was highly recruited. Gray, the lefty, stroked multiple three pointers and scored at will in a variety of fashions. She also played extremely well on the defensive end by blocking shots and snatching down rebounds. Gray is definitely a talented performer with a very bright future.
Marqu’es Webb 6-1, Georgia Metros 16 Nike Team
The power forward from Hoover, Alabama exemplifies everything coaches look for in a player. Webb maximizes her size and strength to dominate the paint at both ends of the floor. She is a legitimate threat to get a double double every time she steps on the court. Webb is an excellent passer with a high basketball IQ. She has a nice face up game and range that extends out to the three point line. Webb communicates well and is a coach on the floor. She has several BCS offers and is expected have her list trim downed to five schools by the end of July.
Kaela Davis 6-3, TN Flight Silver
Davis had her all around game on display, she hit multiple treys from the NBA line. She rebounded and pushed the ball up the floor to lead the break and attacked the paint and threw pinpoint passes to fellow USA U17 teammate Rebecca Greenwell who was spotting up for the three point shot. Davis also did a fantastic job of playing defense. The Suwanee, Georgia native game is an excellent blend of speed and power and it is easy to see why Davis is considered the best guard still available in the Class of 2013.
Rebecca Greenwell 6-1, TN Flight Silver
The scouting report on the sharpshooter Rebecca Greenwell from Owensboro, Kentucky is to run her off her spot and make her put the ball on the floor. After watching Greenwell’s performance at the PBR Super 64, I would have to say that plan of action is no longer valid. The sniper from beyond the arc, Greenwell made several three pointers off the break and in the half-court set. The defense tried forcing her off her spot but didn’t have much success because Greenwell proceeded to attack off the dribble and finished at the rim with contact. She also hit several midrange pull-up jumpers further dispelling that scouting report. Greenwell is arguably the best shooter, still on the board, with standing offers from multiple BCS schools.
2014
Brooke McCarty 5-3, Cy-Fair Nike Elite Coleman
McCarty from League City, Texas, has a very high basketball IQ, she communicates well with teammates. McCarty can create for herself or teammates off the dribble. She is an explosive quick guard who can get her own shot with ease and she loves to attack. McCarty is a playmaker with a keen sense of her surroundings to find the open man. She is a great 3 point shooter with a nice midrange game. McCarty isn’t afraid to attack the paint against the bigs she will do whatever it takes to get the win. McCarty flat out lit up the scoreboard versus two of the top travel teams in the country scoring 23 of her teams 55 points against the Georgia Metros 16 Nike team and 22 of 63 points against TN Flight Silver, she also had several assist in both games. McCarty might be small in size but she definitely has a big game and should be considered among the top point guards in her class.
Myisha Hines-Allen 6-2, NJ Sparks Elite
The Montclair, New Jersey native has a college ready body and she uses it to play a physical brand of basketball. Hines-Allen has a nice midrange jump shot to go along with a decent low post game and she does a good job finishing in the paint. Hines-Allen hits the boards aggressively at both ends of the court. She runs floor really well and she has good hops. Hines-Allen is a good on ball and low post defender. She is a solid mid to high major prospect.
Alexis Jennings 6-3, TN Flight Alabama
The 6-3 forward has a sweet stroke from behind the arc along with a nice midrange game. Jennings, from Harvest, Alabama, has long arms and runs the floor well. She has a good command of her dribble and can play multiple positions. Jennings has the ability to take over a game and with continued development she has the chance to be a BCS prospect. Definitely worth watching.
2015
Jordan Moore 6-3, Austin Elite Dream Team – Christian
Moore is a long athletic post with a college body. She runs the floor well and has a lot of energy. Although Moore is raw offensively the effort and desire is there. She was fundamentally sound defensively. Moore did a nice job rebounding at both ends. She still has time to develop her game and skill level, Moore has the one thing you can’t coach and that’s size.
