LAS PALMAS de GRAN CANARIA (Spain)—Sunday saw the first European class of Blue star 30 athletes head home following an ultra-successful inaugural event of the highly regarded select program.  The lineup of the 30 person class did not disappoint and gave valid testament to the preparation European players are getting at younger and younger ages. The elite participants selected by Blue Star Europe’s Dan Bowmaker along with international analysts Paul Nilsen and Pierre Ploszajski represent some of the top up and coming talent in Europe and are poised to begin making some noise among savvy college recruiters.

Despite their youth (22/2022’s – 8/2023’s), it wasn’t difficult to see their collegiate promise already and appreciate the direction of their game.  Make no mistake, these aren’t the players you come after when you strike out at home.  These athletes are the kind of prospects that fill essential roles and makes programs better as a primary recruit.

While travel severely limits today’s coverage, we did offer up two action images of each Blue Star 30 Europe athlete.  (And just like back home, they’re in alphabetical order) We’ll have more on the standouts from this groundbreaking event as time goes by.  Check back with Blue Star Media later this week as well for the fourth annual US Blue Star 30 scheduled Thursday through Sunday in metropolitan Philadelphia and the Philadelphia 76er’s training facility.  This 2019 class has a tough standard to live up to as the FIBA Americas U16 Gold Medal winning USA team featured 9 Blue Star 30 members on their 12 person championship roster.
