The Nike Hoop Summit announced its U.S. roster for its annual game featuring top American high school senior boys facing off against international players at Portland
and three Duke signees — 7-0 center Dereck Lively from Westtown, Pa. School, 6-6 guard Dariq Whitehead of Monteverde, Fla. Academy and 6-10 center Kyle Filipowski of Wilbraham and Monson Academy in Westtown, NY– have all been selected to the team.
Other players include guard Nick Smith Jr. and 7-0 center Kel’el Ware of North Little Rock High School, who signed with Arkansas and Oregon; guard Amari Bailey of Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth, Calif., who signed with UCLA; forward Grady Dick of Sunrise Academy in Wichita, who signed with Kansas; guard Keyonte George of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla, who signed with Baylor; forward Dillon Mitchell of Montverde Academy, who signed with Texas; forward Jarace Walker of IMG, who signed with Houston; guard Cason Wallace of Richardson, Tex. High, who signed at Kentucky; and forward Cam Whitmore of Archbishop Spaulding, who signed with Villanova.
It is important to point out seven of the 10 players selected attend private schools or elite prep schools.
The game itself will be played Friday April 18 at 7 p.m. Pacific time.
The team will be coached by Joe Montagna of Blair NJ Academy.
The World Select team is expected to be announced at a later date and will draw plalyers from FIBA Africa, FIBA Americas, FIBA Asia, FIBA Europe and FIBA Oceania.
