i voted Ohio State No. 1 for a second straight week in my FWAA Sweet 16 ballot.
I like team that pllay with a chip on their shoulder
The Buckeyes played like a team that was still smarting from last year’s loss to Michigan at the Big House that cost them a chance to win the Big Ten play in the College football playoff semi-finals.
And they have been takng it out on everyone since the second week of the season.
Ohio State (6-0) rolled to a 49-20 victory over Michigan State at East Lansing Saturday and comes on the heels of a 77-21 win over Toledo, a 52-21 win over Wisconsin and a 49-10 win over Rutgers.
Quarterback CJ Stroud continued to make a case for himself as a Heisman Trophy winner, throwing six touchdowns, three of them to dazzling receiver Marvin Harrison Jr..
Harrison stole the spotlight with a leaping catch that was near his right cleat for his third TD. “If they saw my face on camera, I ws like, “What was that?” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said. “That was a tremendous catch. We do see things like that in practice, but hat was special.”
The scary part that the Buckeyes did all that damage wiout injured receiver Jaxson Smith- Njigba and running back Miyan Williams. TreVeyon Henderson ran for 118 yards and a touchdown before limping off the field with a right leg injury in the third quarter and
spending the rest of the game on the bench out of caution.
Michigan State (2-4, 0-3) has now lost four straight games.
Stroud completed 21 of 26 passes for 361 yards, becoming the first player in school history to throw six touchdowns in three games. He did it throwing in a 20 mile per hour wind.
Michigan State started the season in the Top 15 but Sparty’s disappointing start created the oppoortunity for horrdes of Ohio State fans ,making a road trip and creating thier own sea of red in the State stands. It also created an unexpected problem for Mel Tucker, who signed a 10 year 95 million dollar conlract last season to coach this program.
Ohio State has a bye week to rest up before hosting Iowa and traveling to Penn State.
