Canada’s Kia Nurse u17s claims first Boo Williams crown

(Being unable to make this year’s Boo Williams event, I asked a number of proven evaluators and key travel coaches to provide me with information about this year’s event. I am quite familiar with many of the players as many are BlueStar30s and also players who I saw either on the USABJNT or at the USAB Mini Camp or Hoop Summit. Congrats to all the winning teams and players noted below.)

HAMPTON, VA – April has arrived, and as the basketball world at least temporarily shifted focus away from the transfer portal and took a look toward the 2023 club basketball season, it was time once again to make the annual trip to the Boo Williams Sports Complex.

As usual, the Boo Williams Nike Invitational was the first stop on the Nike Girls EYBL Circuit, a schedule which is now expanded to include the 15U entries from each of the two clubs. This only added to all the “must see” basketball, and while it was impossible to catch every team, we caught some amazing games and outstanding players.

All three championship games were highly entertaining, and congratulations to the three champions who took home their Boo banners:

17 EYBL- Kia Nurse Elite

16 EYBL- Team Takeover

15 EYBL- North Tartan

The middle school and non-EYBL pools had their fair share of great basketball as well, and our team got eyes on plenty of the action in those brackets. However, for this article, we chose to lock in on spotlighting just a handful of the standouts in the Nike 15, 16, and 17 EYBL divisions.

We look forward to a spring and summer of coast-to-coast girls basketball coverage this season. See you in the gym!
