Suwanee, Ga.—The Peach State Basketball End of the Road Championship/Shootout featured 81 teams from eight different states. Competition was held in eight tournament brackets as well as an independent bracket for select teams. The Kentucky teams proved to be very strong. The Douglasville Lady Tigers excelled on both ends of the court, as well. The West Virginia teams exhibited a strong team presence.
Numerous outstanding players were on hand with the youth strutting their stuff in particular. Courtney Eisenman (W.Va Thunder-2016) revealed her strength and a big body that presents real problems. Elizabeth Balogun (Tenn. Extreme-2018) flashed strong handles and extreme athleticism. In the senior class, Jazmin Boyd (SME White) revealed a nice stroke that comes with decent range.

We took in numerous Florida junior college practices on a September 19 preview day. The Sunshine State continues to be one of the premier junior college hotbeds in the nation. Pensacola State College has the most talent at this early point in the season. Deja Clay(Decatur, Ga.) is a presence the middle while Shakeyla Carrington(Gainesville, Ga.) is making her mark the premier. Northwest Florida offers a terrific group of athletes. Simone Westbrook(Chandler, AZ) demonstrated deep range and has the tools to run the point. Gulf Coast State College is thrilled to have Roonie Scovel back at the helm and the team showed promise with Taylor Shaw(Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) on the perimeter plus Tianah Alvarado(St. Petersburg, Fla.—Ole Miss transfer) and Chelsey Gibson(Pensacola, Fla.) offering additional depth.
Bobbi Morse brings nearly 30 years of experience to Blue Star Basketball. She coached at all levels from junior college to the WNBA as both an assistant or head coach. Having held numerous Division I assistant coaching positions, she closed out her career at Washington University-St. Louis where she was a part of four national championship games.
