Lessons Lost

The headlines these days seem to be filled with examples of some of the biggest obstacles in youth sports…the adults.  Somewhere along the line overthinking and insecure individuals began rewarding the low standard of just showing up or leading teams into the path of least resistance by throwing games…and they’re doing this in the name of leadership.  Now that’s a comforting thought.  In athletics specifically and life in general, young people evolve from the expectations they face and the examples they see.  I’m not sure the current generation of athletes is getting their money’s worth.  The following podcast offers up some additional thoughts that hopefully will at least generate further conversation.  As with any column I write or podcast that I share these are my thoughts alone and are intended  simply to “stir the pot”.  Thanks for listening…now…Who has my trophy??
