HOLLYWOOD, Fla.  — Here are the final 2015 Blue Star Media Elite 25 high school football rankings.

After a two-year reign at the top, Allen (Texas) has been dethroned. Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) is officially the Blue Star Media Elite 25 National Champions! The Gaels played one of the toughest schedules in the country and won a seventh straight Nevada state championship. Kudos goes to all the Gorman players, coaches, administrators and students at one of the most prominent secondary schools on a national honor.

The Blue Star Media Elite 25 return in August 2016 with the preseason rankings. In the meantime, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and be sure to check for the boys and girls’ basketball rankings that run weekly until the conclusion of their seasons in early April.

2015 Blue Star Media Elite 25 High School Final Football Rankings

1. Bishop Gorman, Las Vegas (15-0)*

Previous rank: 1.

Recap: Crowned Blue Star Media’s National Champions. Won the Division I state championship, claiming a state title for the seventh straight season.

2. Katy, Texas (16-0)*

Previous: 4.

Recap: Defeated Lake Travis (Austin), 34-7 in Class 6A Division II final. RB Kyle Porter won Offensive MVP honors running for 188 yards and three touchdowns. It was the Tigers’ eighth state championship, tying it with Southlake Carroll and Celina for the most. In the semifinals, the Tigers blanked No. 10 Cibolo Steele, 38-0. It was the team’s seventh shutout of the season and second in the postseason.

3. Colquitt County, Moultrie, Ga. (15-0)*

Previous: 5.

Recap: Won second-straight (and third overall) Class AAAAAA state championship, defeating then-No. 9 Roswell, 30-13. Kiel Pollard rushed for two TDs in the first quarter and Luis Martinez nailed three second-half FGs to propel the Packers to the their 30th straight victory. Coach Rush Propst’s team became Georgia’s third squad to complete a second consecutive perfect seasons in the highest classification.

4. De La Salle, Concord, Calif. (13-1)*

Previous: 7.

Recap: Defeated then-No. 3 Corona Centennial, 28-21, in CIF Open Division Bowl. Antoine Custer and Anthony Sweeney scored second half TDs rallying the Spartans from a 21-14 hole and hold on for a second straight Open Division crown. Also won the CIF-North Coast Section Division I final. That’s 31 sectional titles since 1975 for the Spartans.

5. Corona (Calif.) Centennial (14-1)*

Previous: 3.

Recap: Fell to then-No. 7 De La Salle (Concord), 28-21, in CIF Open Division Bowl. It was the second straight year the Huskies dropped the state final to DLS. Previously won CIF-Southern Section Pac 5 Division championship.

6. IMG Academy, Bradenton, Fla. (8-0)

Recap: IMG Academy does not compete for a state championship.

7. St. Thomas Aquinas, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (14-1)*

Previous: 11.

Recap: Defeated Viera (Melbourne), 45-10, in Class 7A final. The Raiders jumped to a 28-3 lead at halftime en route to their ninth state championship.

8. St. John Bosco, Bellflower, Calif. (13-1)

Previous: 8.

Recap: Advanced to CIF-Southern Section Pac 5 Division final. Won Trinity League championship.

9. Eastside Catholic, Sammamish, Wash. (13-0)*

Previous: 12.

Recap: Won two straight Class 3A state championship.

10. St. Edward, Lakewood, Ohio (14-1)*

Recap: Won second straight Division I state championship.

11. Spanish Fort, Ala. (15-0)*

Recap: Won third Class 7A state championship in four years. The Toros were the lone undefeated from the Alabama state association.

Recap: Won Class 6A state championship. The Bulldogs won their seventh overall state title and first since 2000. It was the program’s first unbeaten season since the 1963 and ’64 seasons.

13. North Shore, Galena Park, Texas (13-3)*

Recap: Won Class 6A, Division I state championship, defeating Westlake (Austin), 21-14, in overtime. Maciah Long’s second 1-yard TD of the game clinched it in the extra session. It was the program’s second state title with the first coming in 2003.

Recap: The Stags won their third straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference  championship.

15. Trinity Christian Academy, Jacksonville, Fla. (14-0)*

Recap: Defeated Armwood (Seffner), 48-13, in Class 6A final. It was the fourth straight state title for the Rockets who suffered a pair of early season losses but recovered in dramatic fashion. Freshman RB James Cook rushed for three TDs and 178 yards on 15 carries. Cook’s brother, Dalvin, is a star RB at Florida State. QB Jerrod Thomas passed for two scores and 156 yards.

17. Loyola Academy, Wilmette, Ill. (14-0)*

Recap: Won Class 8A state championship.

18. Central Catholic, Pittsburgh (15-1)*

Previous: 20.

Recap: Defeated Parkland (Allentown), 21-18, in PIAA Class AAAA final. The Vikings are the first WPIAL Class AAAA team to capture four PIAAA championships. J.J. Younger, a backup RB, ran for 184 yards and a 54-yard TD on 14 carries. In the semifinals, the Vikings popped Cumberland Valley (Mechanicsburg), 24-7.

19. Mallard Creek, Charlotte, N.C. (14-2)*

Previous: Not ranked.

Recap: Defeated Page (Greensboro), 49-6, to capture a third straight Class 4AA state championship. The Mavericks scored on five of their first six possessions. QB James Smith, who was named the game’s MVP, finished with 172 passing yards and three TDs and ran for 74 yards and another score.

20. Roswell, Ga. (14-1)

Previous: 9.

Recap: Lost to No. 6 Colquitt County (Moultrie), 30-13, in Class AAAAAA final. QB Quintarius Neely clicked on 15 of 30 passes for 232 yards and a TD.

Recap: Advanced to Class 6A, Division I final, falling to North Shore (Galena Park)/Converse Judson, 21-14, in overtime. In the semifinals, the Chaps toppled then-No. 2 Allen, 23-17. Texas-bound QB Sam Ehlinger threw for 258 yards and three TDs and ran for 127 yards.
