WILMINGTON, DE— The fourth annual Blue Star 30 Camp brought together 43 athletes from across the country last weekend for some intense training, high level competition and…as the hashtag says…”sisterhood”. It’s a rare sight in competitive athletics to see bonding between elite athletes, not only in camp but moving forward as well. Blue Star 30 has been a catalyst for great basketball as well as lasting friendships among those who earned the elite invitation to be a part of the family.
Thanks to Mike Flynn, Blue Star 30 has an established reputation for doing things the right way. The players will vouch for the amount and quality of gear, the coaches have resumes that will stack up with anyone on the bench and the facilities (Like the brand new 76er’s Fieldhouse last week) provide the proper setting to focus on the work at hand.
The work at hand is what we’re actually looking at today. Every player invited to Blue Star 30 – 2019 was hand selected and brought possibilities to the table that set them apart from a large majority of their peers. At this point, they’re way too young to begin any type of ranking (a meaningless and asinine activity by the way!) and, ultimately, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder anyway. What we can tell you is that all are on a path to bright futures both scholastically and collegiately. What they do with the impressive potential they’re showing and where it takes them remains to be seen over the next several years.
Please keep in mind, these are established elite athletes already seen, evaluated and on many recruiting radars across the country. We’re not talking about sleepers or hidden gems. The evaluations below are essentially on what they did over the course of four days against an, often hard to find, elite field of their peers. Because of their age we’re not committing them specifically to a position unless referenced in the evaluation. We’re also steering away from their specific heights due their youth and imaginative creativity in the numbers they provided up front! Here are some brief thoughts from last week. For you hopeful recruiters, if you want more insight, make sure your Blue Star Report subscription is up to date!
