Ft. Worth, TX – The 2nd Annual Blue Star Saturday event headed south to the Lone Star State last weekend, following the NCAA Women’s Basketball March Madness to the Final 4 in Dallas.
Nearly 200 young women from coast-to-coast, over 30 states, middle school and high school, descended upon Boswell High School, coming off an amazing Friday night of Final 4 games and ready for their own opportunity to compete and showcase their skills. The stage was set, and the players did not disappoint.
To be able to have the next generation of women’s basketball players at an event in the Final 4 city continues to be a special opportunity, and it’s great to hear all of the buzz and conversations amongst the attendees about the games the night before. We were able to reminisce about some of the Final 4 players- Angel Reese, Kateri Poole, Raven Johnson, and Ashlyn Watkins, who were in these players shoes and we got to watch grow up in the game as Blue Star 30 players. This is how we continue to grow the game of women’s basketball.
We look forward to a full spring and summer of basketball. Keep your eyes out on social media (@risingbluestar1) and the Rising Blue Star website in the coming weeks and months for our next events, leading up to our fall camp season.
