Dallas, TX – Blue Star Basketball today announced that the 2nd Annual Blue Star Saturday event will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in conjunction with the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Final Four in Dallas.
This upcoming event comes on the heels of the long-awaited 1st annual event this past April in Minneapolis, which saw over 200 players from all over the country in both middle school and high school in attendance. Here is our full coverage of that event:

“After consecutive years of COVID-related cancellations, it was great to finally get Blue Star Saturday rolling, and without a doubt, the Minneapolis event was loaded.” said Mike Flynn, owner of Blue Star Basketball and Blue Star Media. “Now, as we look forward to building on that in Dallas, I look forward to seeing what the next wave of new talent in girls’ basketball looks like. We found several members of the 2022 class of Blue Star 30’s in Minneapolis back in April.”
Blue Star Saturday was created to be a one-day, invite only All-Star event, welcoming girls’ basketball players from all over the world to compete in a full day of All-Star games. Participants are selected each year among standout attendees from Rising Blue Star and Blue Star Combine Camps held across North America each fall, as well as from Blue Star Travel Teams, and the current classes of Blue Star 30’s.
“Every fall our staff travels the country running our camps, and we are always amazed and never surprised at the talent we find out there,” Flynn said. “Whether you are a middle school player just starting out on your basketball journey, or an established high school standout on the rise, it’s all about getting exposure and also getting good information. Every year we find a majority of our next Blue Star 30 campers and Blue Star All-American campers at these fall events.”
Once again, this year’s Rising Blue Star Camps will be for players in grades 5-8, with the Blue Star Combine focusing on the high school players, grades 9-11. Sign ups opened up in the early summer, and camp season kicks off in Indianapolis on Friday night, September 9. We have added some new cities this year, as well as some returners we missed at the height of the pandemic. Be sure to check out all of our camp info on social media (@risingbluestar1) and also on our website: RisingBlueStar.com

The final collection of players will also feature members of the first seven classes of Blue Star 30s. Each year, the Blue Star 30 committee selects some of the world’s top young middle school players to participate in the Blue Star 30 Elite Camp. The most recent Blue Star 30 camp was held in Tampa, FL this past August.
On top of the All-Star games, some surprise guests and speakers are once again expected to be in attendance at Blue Star Saturday, along with the Blue Star Media team and some of the country’s top evaluators. Video, social media, online, and print coverage of the event will be strong.
“There are some big changes happening in college basketball, and with those changes come challenges, but also opportunities,” said Flynn. “With even fewer NCAA DI evaluation days this academic year, playing in front of the right eyes and getting the best exposure possible outside of those evaluation periods may be more important than ever. Dallas is going to be a great Final 4 destination, and we can’t wait for Blue Star Saturday to once again be here.”
