BENSALEM, Pa. – The latest Blue Star Media Elite 25 high school football rankings remains mostly in tact but does have one addition.

The Elite 25 adds No. 20 Archbishop Hoban (Akron, Ohio) to the fold after an impressive 13-0 start. The Knights need two more wins to annex another state championship. This weekend’s test is Avon in the Division II semifinals.

This weekend five more teams from the Elite 25 will play for state or California sectional championships. This is what the teams play for and are looking to make it a November to remember. Don’t forget there are plenty of Thanksgiving Day traditional games, mostly on the East Coast, and scattered throughout New England. Those games are more social as thousands flock to the stadium for a glimpse of the game and meet up with locals.

The national game of the week features No. 1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) and No. 3 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) for the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 final. Bosco won the first meeting this season. State championships will be played in Minnesota, Indiana, New Jersey, New York, Illinois and Missouri.

Enjoy those games.

The Blue Star Media Elite 25 football rankings will return on November 27. Keep those affected by the recent wildfires throughout California in your thoughts and prayers. There’s a lot to be thankful for this week. Stay strong!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and best you and your family and friends. Hope to see you at a game soon. – Christopher Lawlor
