CINCINNATI, OH – Often the spotlight of the recruiting during the NCAA Evaluation Periods shines brighter on the teams and players representing the older classes.  For the fifth consecutive year USJN has swung the light to shine on some of the younger up and coming prospects during the NCAA “break” as they took the floor in Mason, Ohio just north of Cincinnati and the Ohio River.

As always, plenty of national evaluators and media were courtside to check out performances, potential and possibilities.  Pool play led to four different champions (Below) taking home some hardware.  Additionally, the one on one competition saw Mallory Ramage (2022 – IL-Flight West) and Lenee Beaumont (2023 – IL-Chicago Power) grab top honors among their peers.  Those national evaluators, representing over 100 years of experience, also helped choose the list of All – Stars you can find shown on the bottom of the page for some highlighted action Sunday afternoon.

Lenee Beaumont – 2023 – 5-9 – Guard – Chicago Power 14 –Already established…Do it all player on the wing…Bucket-getter…Tends to penetrate at will…Thinks a step ahead…Skilled with the jab and attack series…Stood out even more in three on three play

Anna Blank – 2022 – 5-11 – Guard – IL Flight West 15 – Bigger wing…Nice skill set…Shot the three…Good passer…Knows what to do and where to go with the ball…Looks like she belongs on a basketball court

Alexia Cole – 2023 – 5-9 – Guard – IN Showcase 14 Gage – Keeps making plays on the court…A bit of a tweener…Most likely headed for the wing spot long term…Good handles and speed…Puts the ball in the basket using different methods…Made her presence known

Makenzie Givens – 2024 – 5-7 – Guard – Cincy Heat Premier 14 – Lanky young player…Good moments with the ball in her hands…Showed ability to turn the corner on defenders…Long stride helps on both ends

Kennedy Holmes – 2024 – 5-5 – Point Guard/Guard – Wisconsin Playground Elite 13 – Athletic…Flexed her scoring ability…Can pull ups off the glass…Knocks down the three ball…Prefers to go right…Left hand is there but doesn’t utilize it enough…Will need to tighten up handle and finishing as she matures

Karsyn Norman – 2023 – 5-5 – Point Guard – IN Showcase 14 Johnson – Ability is there to create scoring opportunities for herself and others off the dribble…Deceptively athletic…Hit the off balance mid-range shot…Stood out in the All-Star portion of the event

Mallory Ramage – 2022 – 5-10 – Guard/Forward – IL Flight West 15 – Lefty…Quietly productive…Skills stiidout during one on one and three on three portions of All-Star event…Consistently tough to stop contain…Good footwork helps her finish…Plays with awareness and energy

Alayah Sprattling – 2024 – 5-5 – Point Guard – Heart of Illinois 13 National – Has flare to her game…Super quick…Knows how to use it…Has success navigating second level of defense…Utilizes different passes…Needs to continue to develop the jumper but can connect

Emilia Sularski – 2024 – 5-10 – Guard – IL Lady Lightning 13 – Noticeable length and build…High effort athlete…Good idea of what to do out there…Can get going downhill all the way to the basket…Shot the three well during the All-Star session

Mya Wardle – 2024 – Guard – Heart of Illinois 13 National – Advanced head for the game…Will hit the roller off the ball screen…Showed patience and decision making with the ball in her hands…Pull up off the ball screen is evolving…Has grown up around the game

Monica Williams – 2023 – 5-9 – Guard – Team Teague –A challenge throughout All-Star games…Plenty of athleticism…Frame already has some strength to it…Hits the gas to get to the rim…Shiftiness to the handle…Shoots the three

Staci Williams – 2023 – 5’6 – Point Guard/Guard – ABC Lightning Performance 14 –Speed gets her to the rim…Makes lay ups with either hand…Pushes the ball out in front…Zips the ball around with sharp outside hand passes…Tough to handle in one on one…Attack mode player
