GATOR COUNTRY: Georgia powerhouse in Elite 25 HSFB rankings; final week of regular season has most on edge

BENSALEM, Pa. – Finally, some stability in the Blue Star Media Elite 25 high school football national rankings.

After a few seismic shift in the middle of the rankings, only one team dropped out. This week it’s time to welcome No. 22 Ware County (Waycross, Ga.), who carry a perfect 9-0 mark in the final game for the regular season. The Gators are Georgia’s top-ranked Class AAAAA club and favored to win it all next month.

Meanwhile seven teams from the Elite 25 rankings will be playing win-or-go-home football from now until the season concludes—the playoffs are a cruel way to end or the greatest team accomplishment.  We’ll have all the results and tidbits of information as it all unfolds. Make sure to the check back frequently for updates.

The Blue Star Media Elite 25 rankings return November 10 with the 10th weekly installment. In the meantime, there are plenty of playoff and rivalry games to choose from, please support your local schools. Be on the lookout for the boys and girls’ preseason basketball rankings. They will be here by mid-November. Hope to see you at a game soon. – Christopher Lawlor
