Recap: Defeated Shades Valley (Birmingham), 38-7, in Class 6A first round. Senior QB Connor Short completed 20 of 33 passes for 312 yards and three TD and Alex Elam caught six balls for 108 yards and two scores as the Bucs rolled up 477 yards of offense. Up next: Friday vs. Pell City in second round.

7. Katy, Texas (10-0)

Recap: Defeated Memorial (Houston), 41-6. The Tigers recorded another perfect regular season, but now the fun begins. Up next: Thursday vs. Westbury (Houston) at Houston’s Butler Stadium in Class 5A, Division II bi-district playoff game.

Recap: Defeated Brookwood (Snellville), 42-13. The Rams pulled away with 21 points in the second half after leading 21-13 at the break. QB David McTier ran for two short TDs. The nation’s top-recruit DE Robert Nkemdiche de-committed from Clemson this week and is now considering Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. Up next: Friday vs. South Gwinnett (Snellville) in Class AAAAAA first round.

9. Ensworth School, Nashville, Tenn. (11-0)

Recap: Defeated Mansfield, 37-23. Dontre Wilson and Nick Orr scored TDs in the fourth quarter, rallying DeSoto from a 23-22 deficit. Wilson rushed for 166 yards and two scores on 23 carries. Up next: Saturday vs. Harker Heights (Killeen) at Waco ISD Stadium in Class 5A Division I bi-district playoff game.

13. Bellevue, Wash. (11-0)

Recap: Defeated Ferndale, 28-0, in Class 3A second round. RB Myles Jack scored on runs of 10 and 15 yards. Up next: Peninsula (Gig Harbor) in state quarterfinals.

Recap: Defeated Elder (Cincinnati), 35-34, 2 OT, in Division I Region 4 semifinals. The game featured seven lead changes and nearly 900 yards of offense. Senior QB Alfred Ramsby rushed for 213 yards and the game-winning, 20-yard TD scamper in the second OT. Junior K Zach Gehner’s PAT snapped the 34-all tie. Up next: Saturday vs. Moeller (Cincinnati) in region final at University of Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium.

15. North Allegheny, Wexford, Pa. (11-0)

Recap: Defeated Bethel Park (Pittsburgh), 42-14, in WPIAL Class AAAA quarterfinals. Senior QB Mack Leftwich threw for 132 yards and two TDs, surpassing 2,000 passing yards for the season. The WPIAL Quad A final is Nov. 23 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Next up: Friday vs. Seneca Valley (Harmony) in semifinals.

16. Northside, Warner-Robins, Ga. (10-0)

Recap: Defeated Evans, 45-0. Keshun Hill rushed for 198 yards and two TDs on 15 carries. Coach Kevin Kinsler’s team captured the Region 2 title with a 7-0 record and the team to beat in the Class AAAAA tournament. The final is Dec. 14 or 15 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Up next: Friday vs. Effingham County (Springfield) in Class AAAAA first round.

17. Bishop Gorman, Las Vegas (10-1)

Recap: Defeated Palo Verde (Las Vegas), 71-28, in Nevada Division I Sunset Region semifinals. The Gaels have scored an eye-popping 149 points in two playoff games. Up next: Friday vs. Centennial (Las Vegas) in region final.

Recap: Defeated St. John’s (Washington, D.C.), 21-7, in Washington Catholic Athletic Conference semifinals. RB Dorian O’Daniel rushed 26 times for 146 yards and a pair of first-half TDs. The Falcons play archrivals DeMatha for title but narrowly beat them, 13-10, in regular season. Up next: Sunday vs. DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) in WCAC final at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, 2 p.m.
