Mid-Year Transfers

Now that we’re deep into January and everyone is back in the college classroom, it’s time to share a few thoughts on the annual mid-term madness that seems to be growing every year.  I’m talking about the number of athletes who are looking for the first bus out of town following a first term that saw their dream school become more of a nightmare.  Transfers have become a way of life in college athletics but that doesn’t make it OK to start something you don’t want to finish.  A college basketball player has approximately 128 games over four seasons (ballpark 32 per year) and giving up a two thirds of a year this season and a third next season just so you “don’t have to sit a whole year” is a pretty weak reason for leaving your brothers in arms high and dry.  Follow the link below for a podcast further sharing my viewpoints and perspectives on the topic.  As always, these are my thoughts alone and don’t represent those of anyone else affiliated with Blue Star Media.  Thanks for checking us out today and feel free to share a link to this as you see fit.
