BENSALEM, Pa. – The latest Blue Star Media Elite 25 high school football rankings welcome one team after advancing to the Michigan Division1 state final.

No. 25 Detroit Catholic Central (Novi, Mich.) joins the Elite 25 after shutting out Romeo, 17-0, in the Division 1 semifinals. That also sets up a dream matchup for the championship on Saturday afternoon at 1 in Ford Field against No. 12 Cass Tech (Detroit). Both teams are 13-0 but only one will feature an unblemished season.

No. 3 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) and No. 16 Bingham (South Jordan, Utah) won championships over rivals last weekend.

Since state champions are starting to pop up every weekend until late December, this week is a week of thankfulness. Thursday is a traditional holiday with several East Coast states playing annual Thanksgiving Day morning games. The tradition is especially strong in New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts. After attending a game in your area, which serves as an unofficial homecoming, head home for a great with friends and family. If you know someone alone, please invite them over and treat them like family. You will be grateful you did.

The next Elite 25 rankings are back November 29. Please support your local high schools as they play in the postseason and on Thanksgiving. To everyone—Happy Thanksgiving! We hope to see you at a game soon. – Christopher Lawlor
