ROCK HILL, S.C. — The National Basketball Players Association tipped off its annual elite youth basketball camp, Top 100, this week.
The week-long event will bring together top-ranked high school standouts for elevated competition, focused skill development, and unrivaled mentorship from current and former NBA players.
For three decades, Top 100 has continued to be the platform for elite youth to hone their skills both on and off the court. Now in year 31, invited participants will converge at Rock Hill Sports and Events Center – a state-of-the-art athletic facility and new venue for the camp.
“The NBPA has created a unique, player-first camp in the elite basketball landscape, focused on preparing these talented young men for challenges that lie ahead both on and off the court,” said Shaun Livingston, Head of Elite Youth Basketball at the NBPA. “Our focus is professional development and opening doors beyond the court. Basketball can give its players access to worlds they otherwise wouldn’t have. We’re giving the next generation the tools to realize those opportunities.”
New for 2025, the NBPA has introduced an elevated nomination and selection process, focused on redefining a merit-based system that will result in bringing together the best players – domestic and international – at Top 100. The NBPA is widening its talent pool, accepting nominations from elite youth basketball circuits, and enlisting the expert evaluation of 25 top scouts to vote and rank nominees.
Also new for this year will be the addition of a veteran Camp Director, playing a dual role – elevating on court training for the campers and sharing coaching insights with participating NBA players. Top 100’s first Camp Director will be Phil Handy, former NBA player turned coach who went to six consecutive NBA Finals as an assistant coach, winning three Championships. Handy currently serves as head coach for Mist BC of the Unrivaled basketball league.
