NC State women bb accepts verbal from 13-year old

North Carolina State women’s  basketball team got a head start on its  Class  of 2019 when coach Wes Miller accepted a verbal committment from 5-7 guard Jada Peeples from Raleigh, N.C. .

The 13-year  old Peebles, an outstanding shooter, is getting ready to start the eighth grade at Wakefield Middle School. Moore, the current N.C. State head coach, was hired prior to the 2013-2014 season. He led the Lady Pack to a 25-8 record and a fourth-place finish in the ACC. There’s no guarantee that he’ll still be at N.C. State five years from now.  And Peebles has five years before she can actually sign a national letter of intent in the fall of 2018.

But there are hints  the commitment could stick. Peebles’ father is  Danny Peebles, who played football and ran track for the Wolfpack and was recently inducted into the school’s hall of fame after being listed as one of the top 50 track stars in the history of the ACC. Danny Peebles went on to play wide receiver for the NFL Tampa Bay Bucs. Jada’s mother Monique also attended N.C. State and has indicated one of the reasons her daughter liked State was because she wants to be a vet and State’s vet school is ranked No. 3 in the country. Interestingly  Jada has attended NC State camps for years. Interestingly her favorite player is Skylar Diggins, the former Notre Dame star who committed to the Fightin’ Irish when she was  in eighth grade.
