Baylor, with five early signings so far, is the early leader in Blue Star Basketball’s NCAA Fall Signing listings for the Class of 2018. The Lady Bears pulled in a great class with Blue Star Report’s No. 4 Aquira DeCosta (Stockton, CA), CA; No 8 Nalyssa Smith  (San Antonio, TX); No. 14 Cailtin Bickle (Cave Creek, AZ); No. 16 Queen Egbo (Houston, TX) and No. 31 Honesty Grayson-Scott (Upper Marlboro, MD). DeCosta and Grayson-Scott are former 2015 USA Basketball U16 teammates.

With its signing of Blue Star Report’s top ranked player 6-5 Charli Collier (Barbers Hill, TX) along with fellow Cy-Fair Elite teammate and Blue Star Report’s No. 6 player, center Sedona Prince (Liberty Hill, TX) Texas lays claim to the second position following in-state rival Bears.

The Collier signing was significant for the Longhorns as she had earlier given a verbal commitment to powerhouse UConn only to change her mind earlier this fall. Not only did this give Texas a pair of dominate posts in 6-5 Collier and 6-7 Prince it left UConn without a top 20 player in the upcoming 2018 class at this point.

With a week in signings remaining in front of us plus the late period still to come this Spring, the 2018 signing class crown is still up for grabs.  Add in high profile uncommitted players like Christyn Williams (Little Rock, AR) and Olivia Nelson-Ododa (Winder, GA) and there’s still plenty of room for shifting and debate even before the week is out.

Florida State lands third after signing five top 60 players, the highest being Blue Star Report’s No. 3, 5-10 Brazilian sensation Izabela Nicoletti (Raleigh, NC) who lit up the USA U16 Team in Mexico back in 2015. Georgia Tech slides in at fourth behind two top 20 signings in No. 12 Elizabeth Balogun (Chattanooga, TN) and No. 13 Elizabeth Dixon (Germantown, TN).

Traditional power Notre Dame comes in fifth while Alabama claims the sixth position on the weight of signing seven players for the Class of 2018. Maryland (7) and Tennessee (8) nab the next two spots followed by Arizona (9) and Syracuse (10) to round out the top 10 of the early list.

As mentioned earlier this is just the start of the NCAA Fall Signing period.  The true final Blue Star Report on Fall Signing college rankings will not be official until the late spring of 2018 when all signings will be in the books. Colleges can view this Fall Early Signing list and any updates on www.bluestarbb.com.
