HAMPTON, Va.—The first round of the 2017 Nike Girl’s Elite Youth Basketball league is in the books and four teams will take perfect records into the next round in July.  Cy-Fair, the Cal Stars, Team Elite and Team Takeover all emerged from a round featuring some cross divisional match-ups unscathed.  There were 11 more teams taking home a winning record at either 4 and 1 or 3 and 2.  The rest of the 32 team field went home on the short end of the five game first round including 5 who were not able to get themselves into the win column across the entire weekend.

Fortunately for them the revamped schedule and structure of the EYBL will have all 32 teams advancing to Nike Nationals pool play in Chicago after the second round of competition opens up the July NCAA Evaluation Period.  Half the teams will take the floor in Louisville while the other 16 will tip off round two in Indianapolis.  Regardless of results, all 32 will make the quick turnaround and head directly to Chicago without passing go or collecting 200 dollars.

Today we offer up some images, results and stats by team from the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton.  By clicking on any of the images you can view all the banners as a slideshow.  For more information on the EYBL as well as in depth game by game numbers, follow the links below to the Nike Girls EYBL web site and Game Changer
