SEASON’S GREETINGS: Duncanville (TX) new No. 1 in Blue Star Media boys’ hoop rankings; No. 2 Montverde (FL) Academy wins City of Palms Classic title

BENSALEM, Pa. – As expected, the Blue Star Media Elite 25 boys’ basketball rankings have a refresh look with several teams shuffling positions and new faces involved.

Six teams debut in the Elite 25 rankings after a busy pre-Christmas event calendar. The half dozen squads are from Texas, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Missouri, Virginia and Illinois. One is from  the powerhouse Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, bringing the total of two in the Elite 25 from one of the nation’s premier leagues. A third from the District of Columbia is on the cusp of entry.

Joining the Elite 25 are No. 12 Link Academy (Branson, Mo.), No. 13 Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), No. 14 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), No. 18 St. Paul VI (Chantilly, Va.), No. 22 Reading (Pa.) and No. 23 Richardson (Texas).

No. 1 Duncanville (Texas) takes over the lofty spot in the Elite 25 rankings after an impressive start but there plenty of minefields ahead for the Panthers.

So, that’s it for the Christmas tournament wrap-up.

The Blue Star Media Elite 25 boys’ rankings will return on Jan. 4, 2022. This will update everything through the month of December.

It is our sincere wishes that you have a Happy New Year and hope your Christmas was full of joy. Please stay safe.

Hope to see you at a game soon. – Christopher Lawlor
