SOUTHLAKE, Texas—The second annual Southwest Sports Alliance Spring Classic accomplished what few businesses can lay claim to in today’s challenging environment. With a 20 percent growth in participating teams from last year’s inaugural event and players from 14 different states taking the floor throughout the weekend, the Texas based tournament is evolving quickly into a priority stop on the recruiting itinerary of an extensive lineup of college recruiters. Over 90 coaches were on hand throughout the weekend and as a testament to the talent on the rosters over 20 of those call the campuses of Power Five schools home.
While our time over the course of NCAA weekend number one was split between two events, we got a quick look at some the athletes poised for strong spring and summer schedule including next weekend’s second live audition front of the college crowd. Between now and August we’ll see plenty of established and evolving prospects as well as some new faces that will be looking to make a splash of their own.
