Spalding Hoophall Classic announces star-studded field for 22nd annual basketball extravaganza slated for Springfield (MA) College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The 2024 Spalding Hoophall Classic today released its field and the annual five-day basketball bonanza is literally a slam dunk.

More than 20 teams that will appear in the Blue Star Media Elite 25 boys’ basketball preseason rankings that will be revealed in early November, help fuel the energized event that will be played at Blake Arena from January 11-15, 2024, at Springfield College, the Birthplace of Basketball. Three of the top-5 girls’ teams will be at Blake Arena, too.

The nation’s premier basketball event will once again showcase the country’s elite high school basketball teams. In addition to local participants, the tournament will feature teams from 15 states—Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia—Washington (D.C.).

“We are excited to welcome the nation’s top prep and high school program back to the Birthplace of Basketball for the 22nd year,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. “This year, we have one of the most talented fields this showcase has ever seen with 34 of the top 50 boys from the Class of 2024 recruits. We sincerely appreciate the continued support of the fans and our partner Spalding, along with our outstanding hosts at Springfield College and other participating sponsors.”

The tournament will feature four girls’ games this year. Eight of the Top 100 senior recruits will be featured, as well as five from the Class of 2025 and two from 2026.

Complete broadcast information will be released at a later date.

The event has quite a history as 10 of the last 12 No. 1 overall picks in the NBA Draft have played at the Hoophall Classic.
