BENSALEM, Pa. – In a rarity, the Blue Star Media Elite 25 girls’ rankings remained the same. All 25 teams won and move ahead. For some the regular-season finish line is in sight and others have a date with the postseason.

By the end of February, the entire national will be playing meaningful elimination playoff games while some states will have concluded their tournaments.  No matter where you live buckle up for a wild ride.

Just because the ride wasn’t bumpy this week, doesn’t mean that trend will hold up for the first full week of February. Expect changes.

As we move closer to the GEICO High School Nationals, the four-team event is slate for April 5 and 6 at Christ the King High School in Middle Village, N.Y. So far No. 1 Miami (Fla.) Country Day (two time winners of the event) and No. 6 Centennial (Las Vegas) control their own destinies as long as they win state titles. Both are heavily favored.

Also under strong consideration for the coveted invite are No. 5 New Hope Academy (Landover Hills, Md.) and No. 21 Hamilton Heights Christian (Chattanooga, Tenn.). Additionally nationally ranked teams from Georgia, North Carolina (independent schools), Maryland (IAAM schools), Washington, Florida, Arizona and Utah are in the mix. The National Association of Christian Athletes Division I tournament is Feb. 19-22 in Dayton, Tennessee (Fort Bluff Gymnasium) and that could impact the GEICO Nationals.

The Blue Star Media Elite 25 girls’ basketball rankings return on February 13.
