BENSALEM, Pa. – The final weekend of the schoolboy basketball was highlighted by three teams from the Blue Star Media Elite 25 rankings capturing state championships.

The conquering heroes came from Indiana, New York and Ohio—all in the large-school classifications. That’s a job well done. Kudos to all involved!

The most notable result was No. 8 Moeller (Cincinnati) Crusaders becoming Ohio’s large school (Division I) champion to go unbeaten since 1995. Coach Carl Kremer and the boys did a masterful job and closed out the title on Saturday, beating St. Vincent St. St. Mary (Akron)—a.k.a. the school that produced LeBron James. No. 9 Long Island Lutheran Crusaders won the New York State Class AA Federation crown.

Well, that’s a wrap on the high school season for the most part.

Now it’s grand daddy of all tournaments—the GEICO High School Nationals—to decide the 2018-19 national champions and who’s No. 1 in the Elite 25 rankings.

The GEICO Nationals quarterfinal pairings (all on ESPNU) on April 4 at Christ the King High School in Middle Village, New York, with all eight teams from the Elite 25, are: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) vs. Sunrise Christian (Bel Aire, Kan.), 12 p.m. EDT; defending champions Montverde (Fla.) Academy vs. University School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), 2 p.m.; Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) vs. La Lumiere School (La Porte, Ind.), 4 p.m.; Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) vs. Wasatch Academy (Mount Pleasant, Utah), 6 p.m.

The semifinals are April 5 at 3 and 5 p.m. on EPSN2 and the title game is April at noon on ESPN. The girls’ tournament starts April 5 with the semifinals at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on ESPNU. The final is April 6 at 10 a.m. on ESPN.

For the second straight week there is change and this time no movement in the Elite 25. That will change the next go-around.

The Blue Star Media Elite 25 final rankings will be revealed on April 8.

Thank you to all our readers and congratulations to all the state champions. Hope to see you at the GEICO Nationals. – Christopher Lawlor
