USA Basketball selects Men’s and Women’s 3×3 U18 National Teams that will compete at FIBA World Cup in Hungary

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Eight of the nation’s most promising young prospects are headed for the world stage later this month.

USA Basketball announced the rosters for the USA Basketball Men’s and Women’s 3×3 U18 National Teams, which will compete in the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup in Debrecen, Hungary, from Aug. 23-28.

Each team is comprised of four athletes representing the high school graduating classes of 2023 and 2024. Ahead of the World Cup, the teams will participate in training camps set for Aug. 16-20 in Chicago.

The USA Basketball 2022 3×3 U18 Women’s National Team includes 5-foot-9 Kamorea “KK” Arnold of Germantown (Wis.), 6-2 Sarah Strong, of Grace Academy (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.), 6-1 Mikaylah Williams of Parkway (Bossier City, La.), an LSU recruit, and Sahara Williams of Waterloo (Iowa) West.

Arnold and Sahara Williams were Blue Star 30 players.

The USA Basketball 2022 3×3 U18 Men’s National Team includes 6-5 Myles Colvin of Heritage Christian (Indianapolis), 6-6 Eric Dailey Jr. of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), 6-4 Caleb Foster of Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) and 6-7 Brandon Gardner of Christ the King (Middle Village, N.Y.), a St. John’s commit.

“After an extremely competitive week of trials, we are excited for these eight athletes to represent the U.S. at the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup,” said Jay Demings, USA Basketball’s 3×3 National Team director. “The leadership of athletes with national team experience combined with the hunger of those wearing the uniform for the first time will prove valuable as they unite to win gold.”

On the women’s side, Arnold and Mikaylah Williams both have previous USA Basketball experience. Williams holds two gold medals from the 2021 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup and the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup (five-on-five). Arnold played for the 2021 USA U16 National Team (five-on-five), which claimed a FIBA Americas Championship gold medal last summer.

Sahara Williams and Strong are making their USA Basketball debuts.

For the men Dailey, Foster and Gardner possess USA Basketball experience. Dailey holds two gold medals from the 2021 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup and the 2022 U18 FIBA Americas Championship (five-on-five). Foster and Gardner attended the 2022 U18 training camp, with Foster being named a finalist for the roster.

Colvin is making his USA Basketball debut.

Coaching both the men’s and the women’s teams are head coach Nick LoGalbo, assistant coach Kelly Carruthers and court coach Todd Monsey.

LoGalbo and Carruthers both served as coaches for the 2021 USA Basketball 3×3 U18 World Cup teams, aiding the men to a perfect 6-0 record and the women to a 6-1 record en route to gold medals in each competition. Monsey also served as a court coach during the 2021 FIBA 3×3 World Cup.
