USA routs China, 122-57, in Round of 16 at FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup; Betts posts double-double

VODOVA, Czechia – The Americans punched their ticket the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup on Wednesday night.

After winning Group A with a flawless 3-0 record, the Americans took to the knockout stages defeating China 122-57 in the Round of 16 in Starez Arena.

The U.S. will have another day off tomorrow before facing the winner of France and Czechia in the quarterfinals on Friday. The quarterfinals (time TBD) will stream live.

The game began with both squads taking punches. In a tight first quarter with the Americans starting slower than usual, the U.S. found themselves ahead 12-10 with 4:03 remaining.

From there, the Americans closed the quarter strong, winning the rest of the quarter 16-8 and holding a 28-18 advantage going into the second period. Kate Harping tallied six points in the frame, while Jerzy Robinson added five.

The U.S. took off in the second quarter. The Red, White and Blue held a strong 50-32 lead with 3:56 left in the half. From there, the Americans put the game out of reach.

Addison Bjorn had her standout game of the tournament, with 11 points and seven rebounds. She was extremely efficient, taking just four shots. Sienna Betts added another double-double, tallying 21 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 10-of-17 from the field. Harpring was a jack-of-all-trades with 15 points, six rebounds and seven assists.
