USA U16 Men’s Basketball training camp opens May 22 with 12 players heading to 2025 FIBA AmeriCup in Juarez, Mexico

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Only strong will survive the cut and with it the next crop of young, talented American Men’s Basketball players will emerge.

USA Basketball announced the 36 athletes expected to participate in the 2025 USA Basketball Men’s U16 National Team training camp at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center.

Camp begins Thursday, May 22 with the 12-member team to be announced before departing for the 2025 FIBA U16 Men’s AmeriCup, scheduled for June 2-8 in Juárez, Mexico.

Athletes attending training camp were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee, chaired by USA Basketball Men’s National Team director Sean Ford.

“We are excited to bring an exceptional group of players to Colorado Springs to participate in the U16 training camp,” Ford said. “These athletes have been carefully selected and we look forward to watching them grow and compete with us.”

Included on the training camp roster are 14 athletes representing the high school graduating class of 2027 and 22 representing the class of 2028.

The class of 2027 includes Nasir Anderson, Beckham Black, Devin Cleveland, Derek Daniels, Cayden Daughtry, Jarvis Hayes Jr., Tyrone Jamison, Jeremy Jenkins Jr., Jordan Page, Henry Robinson Jr., CJ Rosser, Taj Saragba, Marcus Spears Jr. and Griffin Starks.

From the class of 2028 are Josh Augmon, Dylan Betts, Mason Collins, Erick Dampier Jr., Devaughn Dorrough, Owen Eteuati-Edwards, Myles Hayes, Colton Hiller, Chase Lumpkin, Bentley Lusakueno, Parker McDaniel, Kameron Mercer, Boss Mhoon, Jordan Mize, Donavin Okoth, Brady Pettigrew, Shalen Sheppard, Miles Simpson, Noah Washington, Michai White, AJ Williams and Quinton Wilson.

Thirty-two of the 36 athletes have prior USA Basketball experience, with 31 players participating in this year’s April Men’s Junior National Team minicamp in San Antonio.

Scott Fitch of Fairport (N.Y.) will serve as the USA’s head coach along with assistants Frank Bennett of Chaminade College Prep (St. Louis) and Nick LoGalbo of Lane Tech (Chicago).

The 2025 FIBA Men’s U16 AmeriCup features eight teams from the FIBA Americas zone with the top four teams advancing to the 2026 FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup in Turkey. Recently, FIBA announced that the U.S. drew Group A with Mexico, Dominican Republic and Argentina.

The USA tip off group play against Mexico on June 2, followed by matchups against Dominican Republic on June 3 and Argentina on June 4.

The Americans are 43-0 all-time at the competition, having won eight straight gold medals.
