Cardinal Commitment

Douglasville, Georgia’s Asia Durr is heading north to the University of Louisville.  The talented 5-10 guard who plays scholastically for St. Pius X becomes what could be the crown jewel in a deep 2015 recruiting class for head coach Jeff Walz.  Durr is the fourth player to verbally commit to the Cards joining fellow backcourt additions Taja Cole and Brianna Jones as well as interior presence Erin DeGrate.  The 5-8 Cole is from Richmond, Virginia while the 5-9 Jones calls North Babylon, New York home.  Standing 6-3, DeGrate heads to the Bluegrass State from Waco, Texas.

Durr, the consensus number two player in the 2015 class, has claimed two Gold Medals playing for USA Basketball as well as MVP honors of the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.  She claimed the 2014 Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year as well as USA Today All USA First Team while leading Pius X to a state title.

Baylor, Duke, Maryland and Notre Dame were among Durr’s final choices
