CHANDLER, Ariz.–If you’re looking for the gold standard in high school basketball tournaments for girls you need look no further than the annual Nike Tournament of Champions in Chandler, Arizona. Since 1997 the TOC has been a staple for teams wanting to compete for national level bragging rights, display their players on the highest profile scholastic stage or simply challenge themselves to play against the very best.
Once again the Nike Tournament of Champions promises to provide competitors, families, recruiters and fans alike with the very best the game has to offer. Teams from 13 states and Canada will be making the trip to the Valley of the Sun for competition in 12 separate divisions. The Chandler School Unified School District continues to co-sponsor the event as well as play host to four of the five competition venues along with Arizona College Predatory.
New this year is the addition of Blue Star Media (www.bluestarmedia.org) as the official media sponsor of the 2012 Nike Tournament of Champions. In its second year Blue Star Media provides insight, evaluations and commentary to those following both high school and club basketball.

Mark Lewis is a national evaluator and photographer for Blue Star Basketball as well as the lead columnist for Blue Star Media. Twice ranked as one of the top 25 Division I assistant coaches in the game by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), he logged 25 years of college coaching experience at Memphis State, Cincinnati, Arizona State, Western Kentucky and Washington State. Lewis serves as a member of the prestigious McDonald’s All-American selection committee as well as the Naismith College Player and Coach of the Year committees.
