GILBERT, Ariz.—The 19th annual Nike Tournament of Champions is in the books and the folks from St. Mary’s up in Stockton, California have taken home the top prize to put under their Christmas tree. When you gather 96 teams from over 20 states there’s some serious shopping to be done…recruiting wise. A lot of the top tier talent was previously well established and some of the younger standouts have already left their mark just the same. And…as always…there were a few just making their first splash in the recruiting pool. No doubt, we’ll be hearing from all of them again in the future.

Today we take some quick snapshot looks at some of the talent on hand in the Valley of the Sun. As always, I offer up a reminder that this isn’t an “all-star” team or even specifically the “best performers”. To a degree it will appear that way but the best players are always going to stand out if they’re genuinely impact prospects. Please don’t read anything into it. The size of the event makes it impossible to see everyone in action. This is nothing more than the observations of an old coach who saw some things he liked from some players on the big stage of the TOC. Some good and sometimes…some not so good.
